| Disc cleaning |

Tip. Automate disc cleaning like this:
Select Start and Run. Write cleanmgr /sageset:1 and click on OK. Open the Control panel, click on Sheduled activities, Add a sheduled activity, select Disc cleaning. Enter all data. You also have to write the computer inlogging password. Before you click on Complete you click in Open advanced properties for the activity when you click on Complete. In the upcoming window you complete the line so that it ends like this: cleanmgr.exe sagerun:1 and click on OK. |

| System restoration |

Tip. Windows system restoration. Before installation of new programs it can be a good idea to create a restoration point. If something goes wrong at the installation of the program, you can go back to a configuration when Windows worked.
Select Start, All programs, Tools, System tools and System restoration
Click on Adjustments for system restoration to control that "Inactivate system restoration ..." is not selected.
Go back and select Create a restoration point. Here you can later restore a previous configuration of Windows. Click on Next to create the restoration point. |

| Defragmentation |
O&O Defrag |
Program. Professional disk defragmenter.
Installation: Click here (or on the link), register yourself and click on Submit. From O&O Software you will get e-mail with serial number, etc.
Click here to download the program.
Start O&O Defrag. Click on Enter registration code and Next. Fill in the information according to the e-mail from O&O Software and click on Next. Click on Finish.
Run the program: select disk, Defragmentation, Analyze Volume(s). After the analyze you click on Defragmentation, SPACE. Analyze the result if you wish. In the future you can use Defragmentation, STEALTH.
Boot-Time Defragmentation:
Select File, Settings and select flap Boot-Time Defragmentation. Click on Enable Boot-Time Defragmentation and click OK.
Automatic defragmentation:
Select File, Settings. Select flap Auto-Defrag (Threshold). Right-click on a disc, select type of defragmentation, e.g. STEALTH. Pull the sliding lever to the right to e.g. 20% (before defragmentation starts). Put the sliding lever at the botton on Auto. Click on OK. |
