Byggis is aimed primarily at companies and people in the construction industry. But even individuals who want to build something new, do a rebuild or renovate can find this information on companies and individuals who can help them.

Byggis database

Byggis consists of a database with more than 15,000 companies in the construction industry. There are companies and individuals who

sell or rent any construction machinery, construction tools, sheds, protective equipment, and other supplies that are needed at a construction site but that will not be part of the building itself.
sell building materials and construction materials. And those construction products are arranged so that they come about in the order in which a building is completed.
sell prefabricated buildings.
work as consulting construction engineers and architects. They help with building plans, building permit applications, inspections, thermal measurements, radon, etc.

Database Search

In order for the Byggis users to quickly and easily find the information desired, all the companies are listed in alphabetical order.

In addition, 5 different search options have been entered and they are accessible from all pages:

Direct Search, at top right. The results can be expected within a few seconds. The search is on all relevant record fields, but not email and web addresses.
Google Search, last in the menu on the left side. Search looks for all the Byggis site.
Traditional search, line 2 in the menu on the left side. One or more search fields can be filled in. If more than one search field is filled in then all these search fields must exactly match the corresponding registry data for the company to be included in the result. And what is written in the respective search fields must match exactly with the registry data.
Detailed search, line 3 in the menu on the left side. One or more search fields can be filled in. If more than one search field is filled in then all the search fields must match corresponding data in the database for the company to be included in the result. If a search field contains more than one character string, eg two words, only one of these character strings have to be identical to the corresponding database data. In this search option, you can also use the AND, OR, + (plus sign) and - (minus sign). (Help with detailed search)
Stepwise search, line 4 in the menu on the left side. This is a guided search. You have a question, answer it, and depending on your answer, you get new questions so that you have finally found what you are looking for.

Internet links

The web site contains Internet links to Byggis help pages and procurements which municipalities, county councils, county boards, authorities, etc. advertise jobs they want done and want a bid. There are also links to various services which construction companies may find useful.

Use

Information Retrieval

The most common use is to seek information on a particular builder or search for a company that can help with the goods / services, ie building product suppliers and contractors. Then you can click on the company's URL and read on there, or click on the company's email address and send an email to the company.

Create and send construction RFP

A more profitable use is to search for "all" who sell certain building materials or perform certain construction services. And then you select the 10-20 companies that seem best to send an inquiry / request for tender for each. Those who have never tried this are amazed by the huge price differences that exist. And choosing the right gives pure profit. Byggis has support for creating and sending out these requests.

Leverage procurements

To begin participating in procurements is a pretty big step to take. There are both laws and rules that you need to familiarize yourself with. But once you've got the routine the procurements may be an additional source of income. You can then look at your own municipality, county council, county board or an agency that has operations where you yourself operate. Or choose the municipality, etc you want.
